Activities in New Brunswick

The New Brunswick Mathematics Competition is held at five campuses across New Brunswick and includes nearly 1200 students from all 14 school districts. It's goal is to encourage students with interest and ability in mathematics and to help them understand the role of mathematics in many fields of study. Contact Maureen Tingley.

The UNB-CMS Mathematics Camp for Grades 10-11: a weekend camp in April which aims to encourage the best high school mathematics students in the province by providing challenging experiences in mathematics within a supportive environment. These students show the potential to be the next generation of leaders of the NB scientific community. Contact Daryl Tingley.

Enhancing our Appreciation of Mathematics Through Intentional Community Outreach: The intention is to bring mathematics to schools and community spaces such as public libraries, through exhibits, interactive visits and public lecures. Contact John Grant McLoughlin.

Activities in Newfoundland

The Annual Blundon Seminar takes place at Memorial University in Newfoundland and involves high school students invited from across Newfoundland and Labrador for three days of problem solving and social interaction. Teacher Workshops in Newfoundland and Labrador: a series of workshops with teachers in their respective schools entailing a demonstration of the general learning capabilities of a new on-line adaptive system, a specific demonstration of the sample remedial modules that have been developed, a demonstration of the possible integration of the system with a SmartBoard, and an interactive session with the teachers exploring the capabilities of the system to meet specific teacher requirements. Activities in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia Math Circles: NS Math Circles is an outreach program that is dedicated to enriching the experiences of Nova Scotia high school students in all areas of mathematics. With funding from the Imperial Oil Foundation and Dalhousie University, we are able to travel to high schools across the province, free of charge, to give interactive mathematics presentations to high school students.
